After another 5 cubic yards of soil delivered and spread out.. (to total 12 cubic yards) the garden is nearly completed!! here is a photo of the process of making the garden space:
They aren’t perfect.. and certainly aren’t perfectly level.. but most are pretty close! Behind the table on the lower right of the photos is the asparagus bed. The asparagus got planted on the 14th of april. I planted both purple & green asparagus(washington) they had arrived from burpee seeds about 4 days earlier & I had put them in the cool basement but hadn’t set them out to air out.. soo… a few had begun to mold, but not too bad.. in hind site, I should have opened the packages a bit more & spread them out. They were also beginning to sprout… but… I do want to say, i’ve ordered asparagus roots before & the ones I got from burped where by fare the nicest, largest roots/crowns I’ve ever gotten, & at a really reasonable price too!
Pulled a “few” weeds yesterday as well as planted new pepper plants & seeded the right side area of the garden with grass seed!
